Natural materials, supporting structures and façades made of timber, minimal use of concrete. Extensive unsealed surfaces, consistent reuse of elements from the existing building, and photovoltaics. When we talk about sustainability, we mean it. At about six kilograms CO₂ equivalent per square metre of energy reference area, BAMA's CO₂ footprint during construction and subsequent utilisation is well below the strict Minergie guidelines, and is in fact one of the lowest carbon footprints in Swiss building construction. An innovative, space-saving parking concept has been adopted for BAMA, dispensing with a material-intensive basement. And we are breaking new ground when it comes to indoor climate too, albeit without making sacrifices in terms of comfort. What's more, we are investing in extensive green areas and replanting existing trees – as we regard this as the key to creating a better urban climate. That and our responsibility as initiators.​
